With a pedigree on only 3 generations, you can have unwanted hidden outcrosses on 4th and 5th generation, your dog may not be purebred or an outcross has been made influencing the phenotype for certain breeds that you are not looking for.

The standards adopted in Europe are called ISO 11784 and 11785.
The chip code consists of 15 digits, and must start with the country’s ISO 3616 code, at 3 digits, or alternatively the manufacturer’s code (no. 900 et seq.).
